Roland Weary earned my hate. I read his story, about him being rejected and all, but then him beating others because of it was just too much. I personally hate bullies, and Weary seems like a bully. He shows his weapons to poor Billy to intimidate him. Weary is always screaming at him and punching him, and he just crosses the line when he tries to kick Billy in the back. That moment when the Germans were the heroes, saving Billy's life. I can imagine poor Billy with his back opened to the attack, defenseless -i swear i almost cried- and tired. The bully, Roland Weary, like a beast looking forward to killing him.
I most point out that the characters Vonnegut introduces are each time weirder and more messed-up. They all die at some point, like the scouts. The ones that where part of this freaky three musketeer thing with Weary -who i hate-, they are shot by the Germans.
One scene that captured my attention was the German soldier in the middle of chaos when they are getting near that camp or place they put them all in, he spits on Weary -which he deserved-. Vonnegut describes, what the spit had which is grotesque (snot, blutwurst, tobacco juice and schnapps.)

The other thing is the time traveling poor Billy has to bare. I mean having to go through your life over and over again is exhausting. It happens in the worst moment as well. He is in the middle of something major and PUFF time travel. It was stressful for me as a reader. It was annoying.
I have always feared that law about recruiting women for the army (that has not been approved), I would definitely die in war, I'm not built for that. So it is amazing how men and women that have been in war, let their children go to war, absurd. Like Billy, who lets his son go to Vietnam, even though he had horrible experiences in war. How about those parents that encourage their kids to go to war. I mean they are supporting the war by doing this. If they want security, make them police officers not soldiers. On the other hand, who am I to judge when I live in a country that needs an army to fight terrorists. I need those parents that encourage soldiers. Nevertheless Billy didn't live in Colombia why would he want his son in war?.

Finally I was moved by the weird weeping episodes Billy has. I hope someone saw him they could be there for him, as more than just the doctor. I like going to the doctor and all, but there's nothing like a friend who hugs you (annoyingly) when your weeping -people need that annoying attention-. He has to be weeping about a post-war trauma, or his wife's death. Sleeping, with a blanket that vibrates won't help him. He needs therapy. I have the desire to be there and hug him. Poor man he is really alone. He really has nobody, not even his daughter.
